DEVELOPING: Two men are missing off the Devon coast after a Christmas swim. Police were called to Budleigh Salterton beach at 10:25 GMT. Concerns were raised for people in the water.

A large emergency response was launched. Several people were rescued and checked by paramedics. Two men, one in his 40s and another in his 60s, remain missing.

The search was called off at 17:00 GMT. Families of the missing men have been informed. Authorities urge the public to stay out of the water.

Exmouth and Beer Coastguard Rescue Teams and RNLI lifeboats were involved in the search. Further updates are expected.
